Carmen 1904Moody-Manners Opera Company

Read more about the opera Carmen

Zélie de Lussan was a familiar, indeed ubiquitous, figure in the title role, and would remain so for another decade.

The Micaëla, Kate Anderson, was a new recruit who would stay with Moody-Manners for several years.

John Child was appearing as Don José for the first time, though he was a regular in lighter parts. The Escamillo was also new.

The 1904 tour schedule included three weeks in the spring, one in Edinburgh and two in Glasgow, with an extra Edinburgh week in the autumn.
