It seems slightly odd, given that this performance saw the launch of a local singer, William Anderson, in a major role, that the local press did not review the performance.

As the performances on Friday and Saturday matinee were repeats of Tannhäuser and The Bo Girl, it is not surprising that they were not reviewed.  Further, a review of the Saturday evening Maritana would have served little purpose as the company moved on to a new location on Sunday.
