Read more about the opera Juha

This was a fascinating evening, revealing an unknown, but beautifully dramatic work which really should be performed in every respectable opera house. The tenor, Peter Lindroos, in a short career, sang a couple of roles at Covent Garden (Bacchus and Duke of Mantua) as well as Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut for Scottish Opera. Two excellent baritones shared the title role, Jorma Hynninen, in particular, being one of the dominant figures in the renaissance of Finnish opera in recent decades.
