The Perth Festival in May was cancelled for the second year as a result of the Covid - 19 pandemic. But here, as part of a Perth Summer Festival, billes as Live and Unlocked, Scottish Opera presented an hour-long concert by three of its young Emerging Artists, directed by Head of Music Derek Clark. An open air event, it was located in the Plaza in front of the Concert Hall. Seats for 250 were put out, allowing a good audience with social distancing. Happily the rain kept away and the audience enjoyed the summer afternoon. The singers were three of Scottish Opera's emerging artists, Arthur Bruce, Margo Arsane and Shengzhi Ren.
Arias and ensembles included familiar extracts by Mozart (Don Giovanni), Rossini (Barber of Seville), Bizet (Carmen) and many more. The concert ended with the trio from the second act of the Barber.
Tickets were priced at £15.
