It is good to see the Clyde Opera Group getting under way once more, still under the direction of the Romanian couple, soprano Roxana Nite and conductor Razvan Luculescu. A few years ago they did a thoroughly enjoyable Rigoletto, so Traviata is an obvious follow-up.
It is particularly interesting to see the Welsh soprano Anne Williams-King listed as Director. During her notable singing career she sang Violetta many times with Scottish Opera, when the company had an excellent production directed by the great Spanish actress Nuria Espert.
