Fife Opera gave three semi-staged performances of the one act opera by Purcell, two in attractive Fife churches and a third (matinee) at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The performances were presented with a five-piece chamber ensemble (string quartet plus double bass), directed from the harpsichord by Derek Clark, recently retired from his long-term role as Scottish Opera's head of music staff.

At the second performance, in Aberdour, the opera made its usual effect with an involved and well-directed cast.
