Scottish Opera throw open their doors this December so you can see what they get up to behind the scenes.
Drop in for a guided tour and meet the teams who make sets and props
Explore the Wardrobe Department and try on hats, wigs and costumes and stage make-up
Pick up a bargain in their cloth sale – 100s of remnants from past Scottish Opera productions, from silks and satins to couture fabrics, will be on sale for between 50p and £10 a metre
Develop your directing skills in a Direct an Opera Workshop
Watch a coaching session with professional singers
Take part in the action using green screen technology on the set of The Italian Girl in Algiers
Listen to the Orchestra and singers performing in concert
Escape to another world with Japanese Kamishibai storytelling
Join in with a special Christmas sing-a-long
Experiment with musical instruments at a Children’s Instrument Workshop
Relax in Café Octavia – open all day for food and drinks
Concerts are at 12.30pm and 4.30pm and last for 30 mins. Tickets for the concerts are free but limited in number and must be reserved on arrival.
