Empire Theatre, Glasgow Glasgow

Sometimes this theatre is described as the Moss Empire, but Glaswegians never used the term. A Matcham theatre, it was open from 1897 to about 1963, it was situated at 31-35 Sauchiehall Street on the corner of Renfield Street. It held up to 2100 patrons.

the Gaiety was on the same site from 1874- 1897 and only held 1400 seated.
