Russian Opera and Ballet Company

This was a short-lived enterprise established during the worst days of the war, when Russia was under attack by the German forces. Many of the performers were emigré Russians and Musorgsky's unfinished comedy was an extremely enterprising choice for performance. The tour was a success, but the experiment was not repeated.
