English National Opera, based at the London Coliseum, used to be known as Sadler’s Wells Opera. The company toured Britain for many years, with regular visits to the four Scottish cities. These appearances are entered in the database under the Sadler's Wells name.
Only four performances have so far been given in Scotland under the ENO banner - a Ring cycle given in Glasgow in 1976, not long after the ENO name was adopted. After that visit the company abandoned its touring policy, becoming resident permanently in London.
