Quentin Hayes Suggest updates

Born Southend, 27 November 1958.

English baritone.

Quentin Hayes studied at Dartington Arts College and in London at the Guildhall School of Music of Drama. He sang with many of the major British companies, including the Royal Opera, ENO, Scottish Opera and Opera North.

From 1999 to 2004 he was a Principal Artist at the Royal Opera House, where he appeared in a range of operatic works by Verdi (Rigoletto), Puccini (La bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot), Wagner (Lohengrin) and Britten (Peter Grimes, Billy Budd). He also appeared at the Festivals of Luxembourg (title role Rigoletto) and Dublin (Enrico Lucia di Lammermoor).

He has a wide concert repertoire - Mendelssohn (Elijah), Verdi (Requiem), Elgar (The Light of Life, The Dream of Gerontius, The Kingdom). He also sings more recent works including Turnage (Tom Fields) in Madrid.

Recordings include the King in Wallace's Maritana and Hortensius in Balfe's Satanella.
