Daniel Barrett Suggest updates

Baritone.

Daniel Barrett trained in London at the Royal Academy of Music Opera School.  In 2022 he won First Prize in the RCM's  Lieder Competition. Operatic roles at the college included Mozart (Count Almaviva); Offenbach (Jupiter Orpheus in the Underworld); Lehár (Danilo); Ravel (Clock L'Enfant et les Sortileges).

He is an associate artist with the Josephine Baker Trust and a Samling Artist, as well as 2025 Alvarez Emerging Artist.  He won the 2025 Brooks van der Pump English Song Competition and also second prize in the 2025 AESS Patricia Routledge Competition.  He was an Atelier Lyrique singer at the Verbier Festival.

Scottish Opera roles include Ravel (Ramiro L'Heure espagnole); Walton (Smirnov The Bear). He also appears in the 2026 Highlights tour.

He made his Edinburgh Festival debut in 2019, in West Side Story. Other opera appearances include Opera Holland Park (Figaro The Barber of Seville) and Verbier Festival (Sam Un ballo in maschera).
