Bryan Jonson was a member of Dundee Repertory Company. He was also a founding member of Dundee's New Opera Group from 1965, playing Black Bob & Tom in The Little Sweep (Let's Make an Opera); Ben The Telephone; Crespel Tales of Hoffmann; Count Gil Susanna's Secret and Count Almaviva Marriage of Figaro.

He also turned his hand to direction and lighting design.
