Scottish soprano.

 Marie Claire Breen is a former Scottish Opera Emerging Artist. Originally from Saltcoats, she is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama Opera course.

Scottish Opera appearances: Miss Austin The Elephant Angel by Gareth Williams - world premiere, Shepherd Boy Tosca. Dewman Hansel and Gretel. Venus Orpheus in the Underworld, A Page Rigoletto, Opera Highlights 2011, 1st Bridesmaid The Marriage of Figaro.

Operatic engagements include: The Daughter The Lost Piece by Gareth Williams - world premiere (Merchant City Festival Glasgow); Vixen The Cunning Little Vixen, Dunyasha War and Peace (RSAMD/Scottish Opera); Naiad Ariadne auf Naxos, Rowan The Little Sweep, Susanna Le nozze di Figaro (RSAMD).

She made her BBC Proms debut in 2010 performing Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music with Donald Runnicles and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and gave the world premiere of Tantalon! These Lands This Wall by William Sweeney with the Red Note Ensemble at the 2010 Lammermuir Festival.
