Born Bristol.

English soprano.

Marjorie Parry studied in London at the Royal Academy of Music before joining the chorus of BNOC.

During her career with BNOC she spent several seasons in short roles, until she emerged in 1928 as a lyrical Wagnerian, singing both Elisabeth and Elsa,  as well as Alice Ford.

After the demise of BNOC she continued in major parts with the Covent Garden company.  Her roles there included Wagner (Elisabeth, Elsa, Eva); Verdi (Leonora,  Alice Ford); Gounod (Marguerite);  J Strauss (Rosalinde); Leoncavallo (Nedda); Mascagni (Lola); R Strauss (Octavian); Puccini (Musetta, Liù).

In 1927 two early complete opera recordings, Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci, were made by the Columbia company using BNOC forces.  Marjorie Parry can be heard as Lola in Cavalleria.
