Welsh baritone.
Powell Edwards was a well known performer of Welsh folk songs, and a highly successful eisteddfod competitor. He won the Baritone solo prize at the Welsh National Eisteddfod in both 1908 and 1909.
Our image shows Powell Edwards as Amonasro with Rosina Buckman as Aïda in the Beecham production of c1918. They both sang these roles in Scotland but seemingly not with each other.
