Joanne Boag Suggest updates

Born Dundee.

Scottish soprano.

Joanne Boag trained in Glasgow at the RSAMD with Patricia Hay, then in London at the National Opera Studio. She received the Susan Chilcott Scholarship, a Dewar Arts Award and the RSAMD's Governors' Recital Prize and Margaret Dick Award.

Roles at the RSAMD included Shepherdess L'Enfant et les Sortilèges, Helena A Midsummer Night's Dream, Nannetta and Mélisande. Later appearances include British Youth Opera (Iris Semele); Early Opera Company (Alinda/Cupid Giasone) and Iford (Drusilla L'incoronazione di Poppea).

With Welsh National Opera she sang Nannetta, Clorinda La Cenerentola, Sandman/Dew Fairy Hansel and Gretel and Arbate Mitridate, re di Ponto. She sang with Scottish Opera on the 2009 Essentials tour, then in the title role Kátya Kabanová.

Concert engagements include the Edinburgh International Festival (Haydn's 'Nelson' Mass) and the RSNO.
