Alexandra Cassidy studied in Glasgow at the RSAMD, in London at the National Opera Studio, and under Leo Nucci at the Solti Accademia di Bel Canto.

Roles during her time as a student in Glasgow include Second Woman (The Vanishing Bridegroom), Minskwoman (Flight), Mrs Herring, Dorabella and La Ciesca. With Scottish Opera she sang Zulma (L'italiana in Algeri). She has also worked with ENO and at the Glyndebourne and Wexford Festivals.
