In summer 2010 Florian Boesch sang the parts of Dr Falke/Frosch in a new production of Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus at Theater an der Wien (Philipp Himmelmann/Cornelius Meister).

During the 2010/11 Season, Boesch can be heard singing the title role in Alban Berg’s Wozzeck at the Cologne Opera House (Markus Stenz/Ingo Kerkhoff). In Vienna he will appear on the opera stage along with John Malkovich.

In concert Boesch can be seen in Japan in Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, Bach’s Mass in B minor as well as at the Wiener Musikverein in Die Schöpfung and Monteverdi’s Marienvesper, both under Nikolaus Harnoncourt. He will return to the Tonhalle Zürich singing Brahms’ Requiem under David Zinman as well as to the Salzburg Mozartwoche where he will sing a Handel programme under Harnoncourt. He will perform St John Passion in Amsterdam with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and Kurt Weill’s Berliner Requiem with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France conducted by HK Gruber. The Season will also include his debut at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf performing Gustav Mahlers’ Das Klagende Lied under Martyn Brabbins.

Recitals will bring him to the Wiener Konzerthaus, London Wigmore Hall, the BBC, to Madrid, Germany, Switzerland and to several festivals throughout the UK. New programmes include works by Carl Loewe, Franz Liszt, Alexander von Zemlinsky, Johannes Brahms and Ernst Krenek.

Highlights of the 2009/10 Season included Haydn’s L’infedelta delusa (Nanni) and Schmidt’s Buch mit Sieben Siegeln, both under Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Wiener Musikverein, Haydn’s Die Schöpfung under Sir Roger Norrington at the Tonhalle Zürich, Creation with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Mahler’s Lieder aus ‘Des Knaben Wunderhorn’ with Philippe Herreweghe, Bach’s Cantatas at the Gewandhaus Leipzig and Stravinsky’s Pulcinella with the Orchestre National de Lyon. He could also be heard at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam as well as in Den Hague singing Bach’s St Matthew Passion and in Antwerp, Ghent and Rotterdam singing Brahms’ Requiem under Herreweghe.

As a recitalist Boesch performed at the Wigmore Hall London, Wiener Konzerthaus, Centro Cultural de Belém Lisbon, Frick Collection New York City, in Canada, Spain, England and Scotland. His interpretation of Franz Schubert’s Die Wintrerreise together with Malcolm Martineau at the Wiener Konzerthaus has been critically acclaimed.

Engagements of past seasons included the world premiere of a scenic version of Handel’s Messiah at Theater an der Wien, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Handel’s Radamisto at Staatsoper Hamburg, and Handel’s Belshazzar with Händel Festspiele Halle.

Besides his operatic career he is also a frequent guest on the concert platform and engagements have taken him to the Wiener Musikverein (Haydn’s Paukenmesse/G Prêtre and Schubert’s Es dur Messe/F Welser-Möst), Mozarteum Salzburg (Mozart’s Requiem/I Bolton and G Albrecht), Festspielhaus Salzburg (Haydn’s Harmoniesmesse/N Harnoncourt), Haydn Festspiele Eisenstadt (Die Schöpfung, Die Jahreszeiten/A Fischer), Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and to the Lucerne Festival.

In recital Boesch debuted successfully at the Wiener Musikverein as well as at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

He also enjoys wide acclaim as one of the leading recitalists of his generation with invitations to the Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Mozarteum Salzburg, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Festwochen für Alte Musik Innsbruck, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall London, Edinburgh International Festival, Leeds Lieder and Oxford Lieder Festival.

In 2007 Florian Boesch was awarded the renowned Russian Golden Mask award for his interpretation of Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre. His most recent CD Schumann Heine – Lieder was released in March 2009 for ONYX Classics. His new CD with lieder and ballads by Carl Loewe is to be released in autumn/winter 2010 for Hyperion.

In summer 2009 Florian Boesch sang the part of Guglielmo in the new production of COSI FAN TUTTE of the Salzburg Festival (Adam Fischer/ Claus Guth).
