For over twenty years J M Gordon had the task of keeping all the stagings of Gilbert and Sullivan up to scratch during an arduous touring schedule.

The administration for the touring company was in the hands of H E Bellamy, and the entire company controlled from London by Rupert D''Oyly Carte, the son of the founder.
