American soprano.

Kathleen Cassello graduated from the University of Delaware in 1980, after which she studied voice and musical preparation under Professor Dan N Pressley and Dr Nancy Gamble Pressley. She won the 1984 Austrian-American Society Mozarteum Competition. She later took many other vocal prizes, winning first place in the Andrade, Vinas and Pavarotti competitions.

The 1985-6 season was spent in Germany, at the opera companies of Braunschweig and Koblenz, where her roles included Queen of Night. Her debut at Monte Carlo was as Naiad in Ariadne auf Naxos, followed, in the 1988-9 season, by Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, conducted by Riccardo Chailly.
