The performance on Saturday 14th November was the Scottish premiere of Goring Thomas's new grand opera.

In Edinburgh, Barton McGuckin and Leslie Crotty repeated the roles of the two brothers, which they had created at Drury Lane. The other roles were sung in London by Alwina Valleria as Nadeshda, Josephine Yorke as Princess Natalia, and W H Burgon as Ostap.
