An excellent cast, mainly of young British singers, assembled for this important Scottish premiere. Heidi Grant Murphy was a favourite soprano at the New York Met, and making her British debut, while David Wilson-Johnson had already sung the role of Francis in London. But why were the house lights dimmed throughout a long evening to the point where audience members could not read the libretto that was included in their excellent programme?
