The third of the crop of short operas was a moody piece, in the somewhat sterile setting of a hospital ward. While the central two characters were effectively drawn, the more incongruous elements were also successful - the quartet, thankfully not barbershop, of medical staff, and the cleaner who takes a greater than usual interest in events.
