Further performances on spring and autumn tours followed the premiere the year before.
Barton McGuckin seems to have had a certain empathy with the composer's style - he had created and sung in most performances of Esmeralda, and here repeated the process. With the exception of the baritone James Sauvage, who was new, the others had come into the touring cast the year before. As previously, the opera was only given in the two central belt cities.
