For a second season, the company tried an abridgement of L'elisir d'amore as a pairing for Cavalleria Rusticana. In 1892 they called it Love Spell, and now renamed it Adina. It seems strange that the critic from the Herald fails to mention the performer of the 'title role'. He seems to have been too much absorbed in the (to him) surprisingly good performance by the tenor - it appears that the part of Nemorino allowed Mr Thomas to relax and play himself.
