With the exception of Plaintiff and Defendat, the cast of Trial this season was as on the 1935 visit. Ann Drummond-Grant was at this stage singing leading soprano roles, including the demanding title-role in Princess Ida. Her voice eventually settled in a lower compass, and in the fifties she sang the contralto roles such as Katisha and Ruth.

The Edinburgh visit was for three weeks commencing 22 November. Other tour venues to be confirmed.
