For the first three operatic stagings by Perth Festival, John Currie chose the three Mozart-da Ponte masterpieces, mounting them at two year intervals. Several singers went on to notable careers, some of them became regular visitors, and Anthony Michaels-Moore returned in 1990 for his first Don Giovanni.
