The 63rd season at Haddo brought its first staging of Eugene Onegin.

The orchestral reduction for twenty-four players was conducted by Tim Dean, familiar most recently from his years working with Conservatoire students in Glasgow. He had previously conducted this piece with the RSAMD.

The cast was led by successful Aberdonian baritone David Stephenson as Onegin. Two familiar veterans Donald Maxwell and Iain Paton added experience. Louise Mott had sung Larina on Scottish Opera's small-scale tour while Lee Bisset had already sung Tatyana at Longborough.
