Patricia MacMahon had a beautiful, pure-toned soprano, ideally suited to this role, and particularly its great aria 'The Sun goeth down'. She sang the part throughout her career, and this was the first of her three performances in Dundee alone. Like William McCue, Peter Morrison was a singer who was able to combine some regular classical work with radio and TV appearances. He also managed to maintain a full-time 'civilian' occupation.
