A good if unsurprising staging of this glorious masterpiece. Perth Theatre has long been recognised as the ideally intimate space for Mozart opera. Young voices don’t need to force, and all sorts of subtly acted details can project the few feet to the audience. With the benefit of twenty years hindsight the greatest virtue of this staging was, however, the sight of young Anthony Michaels-Moore having his first stab at one of the iconic baritone roles.
