Set up with a base in Lancashire, the Universal company spent several years in the thirties touring a popular repertoire round the country. Several of the performers were veterans of the BNOC, Carl Rosa, O'Mara and even Moody-Manners companies.
This two week visit started with Carmen on Monday and Il trovatore on Tuesday.
