Anthony Besch’s excellent, witty and detailed production was revived with some cast changes – most notably Anne Howells and Sandra Dugdale taking over as the Composer and Zerbinetta from Janet Baker and Norma Burrowes.
The 1976 spring tour featured a repertoire including Don Giovanni, Die Fledermaus, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Rape of Lucretia.
The two performances in June were part of the York Festival, in which the company gave the world premiere of Thomas Wilson's Confessions of a Justified Sinner.
