This was the first performance of the opera in Edinburgh since a previous Rosa performance in 1892- just within living memory (letter in Scotsman 2 March p15).

 

The Scottish itinerary was one week in Edinburgh followed by two in Glasgow:

Glasgow, w/c 25 Mar:  Mon Fledermaus;  Tue Don Giovanni;  Wed Faust;  Thu Carmen;  Fri Tannhäuser;  Sat m Rigoletto;  Sat e Fledermaus.

Glasgow, w/c 1 Apr:  Mon Carmen;  Tue Faust;  Wed Traviata;  Thu Barber of Seville;  Fri Elixir of Love;  Sat m Fledermaus;  Sat e Maritana.
