Cast details are taken from the Scotsman (12 April). The reviewer says the performance came as something of a novelty.
"Last night's performance was not without its hesitances and mishaps due partly, no doubt, to the comparative unfamiliarity of the work and the newness of the production. Tom Williams was a convincing Dutchman; he sang with a true appreciation of the quality of singing required, and his presence was always appropriately suggestive of mysterious gloom."
The Senta of Edna Hobson was vocally admirable, but otherwise she is unsuited to this part which cries out for intensely sympathetoc treatment..."
