The Scotsman review (4 April) gives little cast information.

The reviewer is complimentary about the artist playing Mimi, Elizabeth Theilmann. "It was this singer's first performance during the company's present visit to Edinburgh and was, in fact, the first ime Miss theilmann - a new and very welcome recruir- has ever been with the company in Edinburgh. this particular part is said to be her best, which is possible, considering that Mimi is so often played by a singer whose build is in complete contradicition to the physical fragility Mimi is supposed to display. Miss theilmann is slim in build, and with the help of makeu-up captures the fragility admirably. More than that, she has a lovely voice, and put sucha degree of emotional feeling into her singing and acting last night that without any overstressing, she made the performance, especially in the last act, very moving."

"It was altogether a very satisfying evening - satisfying musically, and dramatically, and satisfying to the eye."

John Myrrdin's Rudolph was, vocally and dramatically, wholly adequate, and Arthur Fear's voice and manner were admirably wedded to the part of Marcel - and also admirably linked to the lively performance of Musetta by Gita de la Fuente.

"One thought the orchestra, conducted by David Andrews, was just a shade too assertive in some earlier passages, but latterly principals, chorus and orchestra were all under excellent control. the enthusiastic applause of the large audience at the close was fully merited."
