The cast is drawn from a review in the Glasgow Herald (8 April).

"The magnificent audience was no doubt drawn out by the memory of past delights; and it is safe to say that  not one single member of it left the theatre disappointed.  The performance, indeed, was quite a triumph for Mozart and the company; and its enthusiastic reception showed that the appeal of pure melody and clear form is, in spite of 'modern music' as powerful as ever it was."

"With Madame Sobrino, Miss Lizzie Burgess, Miss Ethel Pender Cudlip, Mr Lewys James and Herr Charles Victor in the principal roles, the performance last night was carried through with the greatest success.  there was not a dull moment from beginning to end.  Mr Victor as Figaro was the hero of the evening.  This fine actor and singer must have made a host of admirers in Glasgow.  His singing of 'non piu andrai' last night was something to remember.  Madame Sobrino and Miss Burgess were hardly less successful.  Mozart does not make such heavy demands on the voice as Wagner makes, but he requires none the less artistic qualities of the highest kind.  The Carl Rosa Company seems quite rich in Mozart singers. A good word must also be said for Miss Pender Cudlip as Cherubino, and the ladies who filled the ssmaller roles.  Mr James made an excellent Count Almaviva, and the other male parts were capably filled.  The whole production did great credit to Mr Walter van Noorden, the conductor, and the management."
