Jennifer Smith was seen largely as a specialist in baroque repertoire, working in Portugal; and France as well as the UK. Tamsin Dives later sang as a dramatic soprano.

At this early stage of his career, Jamie MacDougall was seen largely as a Handel specialist, appearing in several excellent recordings of oratorio. Robert Poulton's career was more conventionally operatic, with appearances with most of the British companies.
