June Gordon was always keen to promote the work of her old teacher, Ralph Vaughan Williams. While the operas have always remained rare, A Sea Symphony is loved by all who know it. These two soloists can be counted as talents well spotted.
The second work in the programme was a real rarity - The Soul's Ransom, by Sir Hubert Parry.
