''Sir - In your issue of to-day the following statement appeared:- 'Last night Stirling Choral Society gave the first concert performance in Scotland of Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas.'
''I beg to point out that this honour belongs to the Ladybank and District Choral Union. A concert performance of this opera was given on Friday, 18th inst., in the Masonic Hall, Ladybank, by the members of this Society, assisted by the Edinburgh String Quartet, under the leadership of Mr Watt Jupp. Mr Harrison Cooper, FRCO, conducted.
