The LSO's residency at the Festival includes several mouthwatering events. None is anticipated more keenly than this evening when Sir Antonio Pappano conducts the Edinburgh Festival Chorus in Vaughan Williams' glorious setting of Walt Whitman. The two vocal soloists are world class.
The concert begins with a rare hearing of Elizabeth Maconchy's Nocturne for Orchestra, then the great Norwegian virtuoso Vilde Frang gives us the lush Violin Concerto by Korngold.
