Scottish baritone.

Alan Watt trained in Glasgow at the RSAMD. He appeared frequently with Scottish Opera, from his debut in 1983 (Albert Werther).  He also sang in La cambiale di matrimonio, La scala di seta, La traviata, La bohème and Fiddler on the Roof. He appeared with most of the major British companies.

His concert repertoire was also extensive, including choral works by Bach as well as The Bells (Rachmaninov), A Sea Symphony (Vaughan Williams) and The Dream of Gerontius (Elgar).

Appearances abroad include Guglielmo at the Fenice, Venice, and Papageno in Tel Aviv (conducted by Zubin Mehta and directed by Jonathan Miller). He also performed in Vienna, Basle, Brussels, Seville, Strasbourg, Bruges, and Berlin.

He joined the teaching staff at the RSAMD in Glasgow in 1995, where one of his specialisms was early Italian song.
