Butterfly maintained its popularity on this 1937 visit, being the only piece to have two performances in Edinburgh. The Scotsman (6 April) reviewed a Glasgow performance. which "attracted a crowded audience...In every respect, the performance was a completely satisfying one."
Glasgow cast details are from a programme in the A M Gardiner collection (Mitchell Library), for Edinburgh a programme in the OperaScotland collection.
This was part of Carl Rosa Opera's 1937 tour. (They had missed out visiting Scotland in 1936).
A conventional repertoire was presented for a week at the King's Theatre Edinburgh, followed by two weeks at the King's Theatre Glasgow.
