The second local performance of Damnation of Faust again assembled a group of notable singers with the Scottish Orchestra. The Kinnaird Hall was perhaps on the small side for this big piece, and after the war the newly-built Caird Hall, down the road, would provide a more suitable environment.
The soloists were an exalted group, with Messrs D' Oisly and Knowles concurrently singing major roles in the spectacular opera performances of the Denhof company.
