While absolutely no excuse was needed to justify a third series of performances of this excellent recent work, this one had the additional bonus of a visit to Portugal, the opera's spiritual home.

The principals from the last revival also re-assembled to great effect, with Stafford Dean, of long service, and Anne Collins, a more recent recruit, as well as Helen Field, all giving their last performances with the company.
