This tour under Ellen Kent's Opera International umbrella was carried out by the 'Ukrainian National Opera of Odessa in collaboration with the Chisinau National Opera'. In practice this meant an orchestra and conductors from Ukraine, a director from Moldova and singers divided between the two. There was no obvious sign of differences between the two.
Rigoletto had on previous visits been an excellent presentation, and the Bohème on this tour also worked well, though whether it should have had so many more performances (70 against 39, with 14 against 6 in Scotland) only the marketing people would know.
Cast details to be confirmed.
