With an excellent, if perhaps smallish, choir, and a band fielding a judicious mix of amateur and professional, the Perth choral concerts continue to give great pleasure. These forces are small enough to have a good attempt at period effects, even with modern instruments.
The Society appears to like employing recent graduates from the RSAMD or Conservatoire in Glasgow, and that policy continued this time with generally excellent results. Natalie Montakhab was particularly successful, projecting a sweet and airy tone that filled the hall comfortably.
