The Dundee choir first performed The Kingdom in 1935, then again in 1972. Patricia MacMahon's ethereal soprano sounded particularly fine in 'The Sun goeth down', but it was an excellent solo quartet. The other three had successful careers outside Scotland and rarely appeared on home turf at this time.
