According to the Scotsman (7 April), "it was a first rate performance. The singing throughout was excellent, and actors and instrumentalists combined well under the baton of Mr Charles Webber."
The bass Philip Bertram had an excellent career between the wars, though he is associated more with BNOC and Covent Garden more than with Carl Rosa.

This was part of Carl Rosa Opera's 1937 tour. (They had missed out visiting Scotland in 1936).
A conventional repertoire was presented for a week at the King's Theatre Edinburgh, followed by two weeks at the King's Theatre Glasgow.
