The cast is taken from a review in the Glasgow Herald (2 March) but the singers are not always allocated to roles.
The reviewer argued that Cav and Pagmight now be regarded as inseparable. "They are like two chapters from the Police News, with strongly coloured music to heighten their effect. Both have to do with unfaithful wives and jealous husbands, and there are murders enough to satisfy the more bloodthirsty....Last night, the pieces brought out a large audience to the Grand Theatre, and the thrills and the shocks were evidently as much enjoyed as ever."
Charles Victor played Tonio in 1905; the baritone Dillon Shallard has been listed in the baritone role of Silvio; Charles Le Sueur (tenor) is listed in the tenor role of Beppe.
In 1907, Carl Rosa Opera in Scotland spent two weeks at the Glasgow Grand, one at the Alexandra, Greenock and finally one at Edinburgh King’s Theatre (7.30;2pm)
